Emily Eisenstein, beautiful trouble, week 5

Anger works best when you have a moral high ground
This principle explains the difference between being unreasonable because of anger and using anger to fuel something you are passionate about. A challenge of this could be separating your anger enough from your work. It it can be hard to keep anger civilized, especially when you involve the judicial system and politics or things that are very important to you.

Hashtag politics
Utilizing social media to spread news is an amazing thing, as it can help you to reach thousands of people in such a short period of time. Social media is a great way to promote activism and to appeal to the masses. Although social media is also very tricky. If someone who has a large following disagrees with your ideas then their followers might agree with them. People can also easily misunderstand the information and start spreading false information.

Action logic
Once reading about it action logic makes a lot of sense, although it's something I have never really considered before. Activists need to have a clear plan in order to effectively get their message out. You need to consider how many people will be there, where you will be, what you'll be doing. Even your clothes can matter as long as they have a specific purpose. Action logic can cause difficulties if the activists are not very organized or if anyone is not informed of the entire plan.

But truth be told, all of these monuments have come with some sort of backlash.  The bracero monument had gotten criticism for stating that the braceros were free to do what they  wished. From what the article had stated that was not the truth. It was merely one persons  interpretation of what a bracero was, b...
